Thankful...

Feels a little cliche to title a blog post (especially given how sparse our posts are) THANKFUL just a week after Thanksgiving. And yet, I'm fine with it. Mostly because it was prompted by a card from my sweet friend Ray, which arrived a few days before Thanksgiving.

First of all, I LOVE getting mail. Second, I love Ray. It's a joy to call her a friend, and I can't wait to see how our relationship continues to grow over the years. Third, it was a dang sweet note. And her note reminded me that God has written people into our stories as all different types of characters, and best of all, we have no idea when we meet them if they'll be playing a supporting or leading role. That discovery, and the timeline that allows for discovery, is something I'm thrilled to celebrate. So Ray, here's to 8 more years of friendship - I am incredibly thankful for you and will continue to be for years to come!

In other news, here's an updated pic of the bump.

We just scheduled our next ultrasound for Dec. 20, and if Baby Clifford cooperates, we'll be finding out the sex! Then we'll be able to really consider names and such, but for now we're just calling the baby "Turtle." Don't spend a lot of time thinking about why, we can't promise a great, philosophical supporting argument. Feel free to join us though; then we'll really know who's reading our blog.

Things Don't Look All That Different...

And yet, we're between 12 and 13 weeks! Our baby is somewhere between the size of a lime and medium shrimp. Yes, we know that's a great picture to paint, and mostly it just makes me think of shrimp, tomato, and avocado salad with a zesty lime sauce. And not because I'm craving any of those things, it just sounds good. No general cravings, although my sweet tooth seems to have subsided. Waiting for the real craving business to kick in.

Today we got a card in the mail from some good friends celebrating our pregnancy and it was just really sweet and encouraging. It's amazing how far a good ole snail mail card can go in making you feel cared for.

Not a whole lot else to report, so we'll just move on to the photo...

That Time When You Never Thought We'd Blog Again...

It's really only been 14 months since our last entry, which is sad, but I'm not worried. Truth is, though we've had a lot to say, I really just don't think we believed anyone else would be interested in reading it. Apparently that's changed.

I'm not even going to try to summarize the last 14 months in a matter of paragraphs, but instead will start right where we area - a family of TWO that has now become a family of THREE. We're 12 weeks pregnant, with a miracle blessing baby, and we're pretty pumped to tell about it. We'll start with how we announced the impending arrival of Baby Clifford.

Tada - something we think people might be interested in reading about. At least our people might be.
