Three weeks on the road and here’s where we’ve been (with a few other small towns on the way):
Hot Springs, AR. Dallas, TX. Waco, TX. Austin, TX. San Antonio, TX. Vanderpool, TX. Terlingua, TX. Carlsbad, NM.
And for those who are keeping track, the count so far includes...
- THREE new National Park stamps (Hot Springs in AR, Big Bend in TX, and Carlsbad Caverns in NM)
- TWO (freezing) outdoor dinners with wonderful friends from our years in NOVA
- TWO nights spent in Texas Rest Areas (they like overnight parking!)
- FIRST cupcakes from Magnolia Baking Co.
- FIRST snow of the year (in Waco, TX)
- FIRST VooDoo Donut experience (and we are ready for our second)
- The kids had their FIRST In-N-Out burgers and ask for them in every new town now
- FIRST Border Patrol check
- FIRST time we crossed the Rio Grande into Mexico as a family
- FIRST visit to Young Life’s newest camp in TX, Lone Hollow Ranch
- FIRST ever visit to New Mexico for all of us
- FIRST attempt at “working” with no cell coverage and no WiFi and no babysitters (eek)
- FIRST time sharing the Gospel with other roadschoolers (pray for Joe, Lindsay, Corbin, and Ailynn)
And now what we know you’re all here for - pics of the adorable ones. Prepare yourself, the big two look like they’re grown YEARS over the past three weeks!
